Good morning Sisters -
After I posted the powerpoint and outline of this good sister's lesson yesterday, I realized that encouraging any of you to use a non-approved church source was not my best idea!  Using approved church resources always insures that our teachings align with the principles and are consistent with what is being taught in American Fork and Africa! As a stake leader, I should be promoting those sources.
With all that said, the core analogy of her presentation - how it took a team to support the one - is a beautiful analogy of the "why" behind ministering.  I hope you'll still take time to look at it and if the story, along with a few visuals, can be helpful as you teach about ministering from approved sources found at lds.org, in the Ensign, or in Handbook 2  - go for it!!
Hope this rambling has made sense!  I am grateful to serve with you!!

Hi Ladies-

These resources on What is Ministering?  may be a little late in the game, however the visual image and analogy of this compelling story is so, so good I decided it was still worth sharing.  I received this from my cousin who was a participant in this discussion with her ward RS.  Her RS leader, Misty Harding kindly shared her links to her notes and power point (which is a large file and which you will need to download in order to see it.)   Call me or text if you have problems accessing this - I'll keep my fingers crossed that these links work for you!

We look forward to spending time with your during our ward conferences!  With so many changes, we are here to support you in whatever ways you need help.

Love,
Laura
